I have been an Epona Approved Instructor since
fall of 2004. From March 1997-January 2006, I worked as
a therapeutic riding instructor/ assistant equine
director at an equine facilitated mental health program.
Currently, I am Equine Program Director at the Epona Center in
Sonoita, Arizona. I am also a life-long horse lover with 30+ years
of horse-care-taking.
As the field of equine
facilitated experiential learning (EFEL) and psychotherapy
(EFP) is rapidly growing, I feel professionalism, safety
(emotional and physical) of participants, our horses, and
maintaining integrity is of the utmost importance to me. Therefore,
I maintain membership with North American Riding for the
Handicap (NARHA) as a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor
(CTRI), Equine Facilitated Mental Health Association (EFMHA) a
subsection of NARHA, Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association
(EAGALA) level I.
With my herd of
seven trained and experienced equine partners, I am able to offer
workshops, Conscious Riding and Horsemanship lessons/training, as
well as Equine Facilitated Experiential
Learning workshops. Workshops range from 3- 5 days, teaching
emotional fitness, creativity, non-verbal communication, awakening
authenticity, energy centers and personal growth with horses. I am
available to travel to your area to facilitate workshops, which
can be tailored to fit your individual needs.
